Tom recently gave us a little insight into his sci-fi show preferences, karaoke abilities, and what he enjoys about being part of the Bristol team.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy travel (especially in Southeast Asia), reading and just about everything on, in or under the water.
What do you love most about Bristol?
The people and the camaraderie.
If you could have dinner with anyone from history who is no longer living, who would it be and why?
Jayavarman VII – ruler of Angkor circa 1180-1220 A.D. to get a real sense of what the Kymer Kingdom of Angkor in ancient Cambodia, was really like at the height of its power.
Star Trek or Star Wars?
Definitely Star Wars. I clearly remember seeing the very first installment in Los Angeles many years ago when it first came out. I recently viewed that episode again and couldn’t believe how “dated” it all looked. When Star Wars first came out, the special effects were thought to be quite amazing – especially the “leap to hyperspace” – that pales in comparison to what they’re able to achieve today. For whatever reason, Star Trek never clicked with me.
What does Connect vs Control mean to you?
Working with our clients to build true partnerships – to actively listen to them and build a support structure that is unique to their needs and provides a platform that exceeds their expectations.
What’s your favorite pizza toppings?
Pepperoni and Italian sausage!
What would be your go to Karaoke song?
If you ever see me in a Karaoke parlor, please put me out of my misery!! Even having lived in Asia for a number of years, this is a phenomenon that completely escapes me!
In one word, how would you describe Bristol’s culture?
Where is someplace you would like to see in your lifetime that you haven’t been to yet?
I’ve been fortunate to have had opportunities to see much of the world but have often fantasized about traversing the old Silk Road from China, across Asia to Turkey.
If you could have anyone play you in a movie about your life, who would you want to portray you?
“Forest Gump” as someone who also inadvertently stumbled across a life that has proven to be quite interesting.
What do you like best about working at Bristol?
Being surrounded by truly competent professionals, all pulling together in support of each other to deliver world class service to our clients.
